Your Needs First understands the severity of the situation, care and empathy that needs to be administered to the female population. The staff’s main focus will be targeting their need for information, support, safety, legal advocacy, help with economic issues and help related to their children if necessary.

The women will learn how to live in a peaceful family atmosphere, how to keep a safe home, clean and how to solve day-to-day problems. While in the structured program the women are expected to give their children a place of tranquility, regular routine with non-violent guidance. They will learn to live together, eat together, care for each other’s children, thus creating a support system that so many families lack, but desperately need.

They will have an opportunity to attend the Life Skills Program: Under these programs, workshops will be offered to help meet the dual challenges of mothering a young child and living independently. One workshop per week will be devoted exclusively to parenting issues. Residents learned about baby care, nutrition, infant CPR, housing budgeting, rights and responsibilities of a tenant, job interview skills, home safety, homelessness prevention, domestic violence, job and computer training, family support services and much more.
